Job Description
Overall Purpose: The Senior Logistics Specialist should efficiently manage end-to-end logistics process, ensuring timely deliveries, reducing costs, and maintaining a smooth flow of finished goods.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate shipments (domestic & international, Import & Export), good knowledge of customs governmental portal (Nafeza), selecting carriers and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Manage the transportation and distribution of raw materials and finished products, coordinate shipments and ensure accurately and on-time delivery to customers and internal departments.
- Align with customers and the internal departments to meet the customers delivery schedules and fulfill the urgent requirements successfully on-time.
- Manage warehouse finished goods operations and proper storage.
- Ensure optimal stock levels and minimize holding costs while meeting production schedules and deliveries.
- Manage budgets, reducing transportation costs, and optimizing the entire logistics process.
- Ensure compliance with local and international logistics regulations, including customs processes for import/export.
Job Requirements
- Bachelorโs Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
- Professional Certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Planning and Inventor Management (CPIM), Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) are often preferred.
- Knowledge of the glass processing industry or a manufacturing environment, including the handling and transport of fragile materials.
- Understanding the logistics needs specific to glass processing, including managing the delivery of glass products and raw materials safely and efficiently.
- From 5-9 years of experience in logistics, preferably in the manufacturing or glass processing industry.
- At least 2-3 years of leadership experience overseeing logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Supply Chain and Logistics Management: Deep understanding of supply chain processes, inventory control, and distribution strategies.
- Technology Proficiency: Experience with logistics software, Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft).
- Leadership: Ability to follow up, manage and motivate a logistics team, including warehouse staff, and clerks.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve transportation delays, supply chain disruptions, or warehouse inefficiencies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordination with customers, suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams (e.g., production, sales).
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate records of shipments, stock levels, and compliance with safety standards.
- Time Management: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
